The Opportunity
Supplies Over Seas (SOS), founded in 1993, is a Medical Surplus Recovery Organization (MSRO) based in Louisville, Kentucky and is one of fifteen MSRO organizations located in the United States. SOS recovers, sorts, and distributes unused leftover, and "under-used" medical supplies and equipment. Supplies can include, but are not limited to: Surgical instruments, dialysis supplies, durable medical equipment, and operating room disposables.
Supplies Over Seas has provided a healthy and hopeful future to medical impoverished communities by recovering more than 850 tons of usable supplies and equipment. SOS services a variety of programs including: Hand carry program, custom box program, custom pallet program, and container shipment program. Each program can significantly reduce expenses for medical missionaries and non-profit organizations.
Our Solution
Avante partnered with Supplies Over Seas to fulfill both equipment and supply needs by offering a medical equipment rental program for short term missions. Once the non-profits selects the capital equipment (anesthesia, patient, monitors, pumps, vaporizers, and or electro-surgical units), Avante then pays for the first 50 lbs. of medical accessories offered by SOS.
